What about specifing the genre of each anime?
Because this kind of threads exist mostly to show your love for your favorite series and share experiences... telling the genre of the anime will help others find new anime the would like or evade a flamewar where it is moot. I mean, what kind of constructive comparison can be made between Agent Aika and Marmalade Boy? They definitively don't compare...

I can never narrow it down to having one favourite since there are a ton of things I like a lot for different reasons, but the closest I can come is the original Macross.
Part nostalga since I saw it in it's Robotech form as a kid, part because even today I think it holds up as a really strong series.

Back in the day Vision of Escaflowne rocked my world, when it came out people thought it was somebody's response to EVA it was that big (not true, both were in development in same time). I might get flamed for this, but the first season of Naruto really had me jazzed. I don't care if you call me a pussy but that climax where Haku died had me crying the whole ep. Damn good. ANd I never cry when watching anything.

I don't mind watching anything by Yoshitoshi ABe or Gonzo studios.
I liked Macross Zero, Hellsing, LoveHina, Lain and NeiA_7. They're not "top rate" anime, but they all have a sort of carm.
I'd watch more, but I'm not where to find torrents and in the UK we're always the last to get everything. We pay the equivelent of around $40-50 a shot for an anime DVD and only a few places sell it.
